Session Agenda

The following provides a suggested agenda for a standard Narrative Mapping session that would last between three and four hours:

• Introductions/opening remarks (5 minutes)
• Narrative Mapping overview (10 minutes)
• Session 1 – Establishing messages related to our focal point and challenges/opportunities (60-90 minutes)
• Break (10 minutes)
• Session 2 – Defining messages related to audience benefits and how we deliver our promise (60-90 minutes)
• Break (10 minutes)
• Session 3 – Capturing support points needed throughout entire map (30-60 minutes)
• Conclusion – Finalize discussion, identify next steps (30 minutes)

Exact times will vary depending on group size and progress made during session.

Requirements: 8-10 participants, conference room, large white board (larger than six feet wide preferred) with dry-erase markers, 3-M Post-It (“sticky”) flip charts with markers, breakfast/lunch or refreshments (if desired) and note taker to collect notes on laptop (if possible).
