Sheffield Marketing Partners is seeking an enterprising accounting professional who demonstrates an analytical thought process, tenacity and exceptional attention to detail while performing a variety of financial functions. The qualified candidate will be resourceful, process-oriented and able to work well with minimal direction.   This candidate will collaborate with Sheffield’s external accounting firm to reconcile monthly ledgers and prepare reports as appropriate.  This role has an opportunity to impact the bottom line of a fast-growing company and to develop professionally as the company grows.  Solid communication skills are a must.  This role reports to the Director of Operations.

Sheffield is a boutique marketing agency in Chicago’s West suburbs that specializes in messaging, video production and content development.

We help organizations find their story and create compelling ways to package and tell it.

Position Description

The responsibilities of this staff position include, but are not limited to:

1. General bookkeeping activities, including check register and bank reconciliation
2. Accounts payable management
3. Accounts receivable management
4. Maintain employee files regarding payroll and benefits
5. Expense reporting and management
6. Assist with implementing and maintaining sound internal controls
7. Prepare budgets and projections as requested
8. Resolve bank issues as they arise

Minimum Job Requirements:

• BA/BS in Accounting or a related field. 2+ years experience preferred
• Ability to operate with a high degree of personal accountability and initiative
• Experience working with QuickBooks
• Ability to interact with all internal departments (account management, production, etc.) while maintaining strong professional relationship with appropriate client departments
• The initiative to find and implement improvements
• The right mix of analytical thinking and creativity ideal for problem solving

Salary commensurate with experience.
